We’re all very excited that the “Best of the Caribbean” special issue of Islands magazine is finally hitting newsstands this Tuesday, Oct. 6. It’s loaded with reader favorites of Caribbean beaches and resorts, the 14 best islands for families, a mystery cruise and of course the best travel photos anywhere — seriously, I’m not biased. Just got back from an unsung side of Jamaica — the northeast coast that’s much quieter than popular resort areas like Montego Bay and Negril. And where we stayed was even quieter: Kanopi House on Blue Lagoon, close to Port Antonio yet seemingly so far away. The accommodations here — stunning luxury tree houses — are hidden in the jungle. You cannot see them from the road, from the water, from the air. It’s one of the best places to stay in Jamaica.
